15 Minutes of Fame is a radio game show hosted by Flip Wattles. In "Fifteen", George Lundgren is randomly selected to compete on the show. The Lakewood students listen to the show in the auditorium.
George is asked five questions, each is worth $100.
- What kind of wood is traditionally used to make a baseball bat? - Ash.
- What does the Latin word "exeunt" mean? - To leave the stage.
- What is lutefisk? - A delicacy from Sweden and Norway made of dried white fish.
- What is the tallest animal in the world? - A giraffe.
- What is Michelangelo's full name? - Michelangelo di Lodovico Buonarroti Simoni.
George can answer the first four questions, because they relate to Wally (a giraffe made of ash wood with which George performs on stage) or himself (he is repeatedly shown to like lutefisk). For the last question, he calls Arthur, knowing that he just did a report on Michelangelo. George ends up winning $500 for his school.
Behind the Scenes[]
- The show's name references Andy Warhol’s famous quote that everyone will be famous for 15 minutes.
- The show offers four possible answers and a Magic Phone Call, just like Who Wants to Be a Millionaire.
