Aloysius Zimmerplotz (pronounced Aloe-ish-us Zimmer-plots) is a boy whose name is difficult to spell. After their preschool class has a field trip to the local library, Ms. Turner (the librarian) tells them that they can get library cards of their own but have to be able write out their full names. D.W. (one his classmates) gets upset about this, since her full name is "Dora Winifred Read." The Tibble Twins (two of their other classmates), who initially brag about being able to spell out their full names, assure DW that her full name is at least a lot easier to spell compared to a name like "Aloysius Zimmerplotz." We then see Aloysius trying to write out his full name but running out of room on the piece of paper he was using.
Aloysius borrowed the book Chippy the Choo-Choo from the library.

He has a resemblance to Beulah McInnerny. It is unknown if this is purely coincidental, or if the two are siblings.
