Chief Inspector Annabelle Fauteuil is a fictional detective appearing in Fern's story in "The Trouble with Trophies". Fauteuil and her partner foil the Grey Dove's plan, who attempts to steal a sapphire from a museum.
Fauteuil is similar to Virgule Watteau, another character created by Fern and played by her in fantasies. Both Fauteuil and Watteau (and Poirot) have French accents and like to refer to themselves in the third person. They also have English assistants played by George, though Fauteuil's assistant speaks with a working class accent. While Watteau, despite being female, dresses in typical male clothes, Fauteuil wears a skirt, women's shoes and a bow under her bowler hat. Unlike Watteau, Fauteuil is an active member of the police and operates in a French speaking country.
