Citations are references to certain things that verify statements made. On the Arthur Wiki, we ask that you include citations by stating where you heard certain facts about Arthur. All episodes, books, soundtracks, news articles, etc. can be used to backup information on the Arthur Wiki. As with any online encyclopedia, any information added to the Arthur Wiki that is not cited may be challenged and removed.
How to cite[]
For in-universe articles, the easiest way to cite things is to include where you found it. Examples:
- WRONG: D.W. once had the hiccups.
- WRONG: In one episode, D.W. had the hiccups.
- CORRECT: In "Arthur vs. the Piano," D.W. had the hiccups.
Real-world claims related to the show, such as production and broadcast information, shall be cited with a citation whenever possible. While standard formatted citations are preferred, for ease of editing, you may also simply provide a URL link to your reference. Examples:
- WGBH signed an agreement with Oasis Animation to animate both Season 20 and Season 21.[1]
- Marc Brown extended an invitation to John Lewis to be part of the show when they met at the National Press Club's Book Fair and Author's Night in 2017.[2]
How to verify[]
If you come across information that doesn't have a reference, you may add {{cite}} to the end of the sentence and someone will verify whether it is true or false. This will show up.[citation needed]
