This is the second Sony Wonder DVD counterpart of a Random House VHS release, and the first counterpart of a tape that originally had two episodes. Since all Sony Wonder home video releases have three episodes (continuing the tradition that originally began with the last Random House VHS, "The Music Video"), future DVD counterparts of Random House tapes now use an additional episode, usually one previously unreleased on video.
For some reason, two sets of fundings play after the end credits following "I'd Rather Read It Myself". The original production funding credits for season 1 (with D.W.'s voice-over) play first (minus the original Juicy Juice sponsor plug), followed by the trailer for "Arthur's New Friend" and the 2003 re-run funding credits with the then-current sponsors for season 7. This instance also occurs on "Arthur's Baby", making them the only two DVD releases by Sony Wonder to feature any variation of the season 1 fundings.
