Pepe meets the cricket in a Japanese field after accidentally travelling to Japan instead of Italy. He complements the cricket's music. Right after they meet, a girl captures both in a jar and puts the jar in her home. They get food but the cricket is too downhearted to sing. Pepe jumps through a hole in the jar's lid and frees the cricket.
