"D.W.'s New Best Friend" is the first half of the third episode in the twenty-fourth season of Arthur.
Summary
D.W. meets a cool 13-year-old girl.
Plot
In this episode, D.W. and Bud are in a station wagon on their way to a puppet making class. D.W. shows dissatisfaction and hopes it's not a puppet show with stinky socks puppets. Bud then goes on to tell D.W. that he once saw a puppet drink water. D.W. sasses Bud, telling him that it was probably fake water. Bud then goes on to defend himself stating that it's real because the puppet swallowed the water.
