"Sue Ellen's Lost Diary"

Sue Ellen's diary is a journal in which Sue Ellen writes stories and expresses her thoughts or feelings.

History[]

Sue Ellen has owned her diary since first grade, and nobody but Sue Ellen really knows what is written inside, since she keeps it private. She loses it at the Elwood City Library in "Sue Ellen's Lost Diary," but Arthur finds it misplaced on a book cart later on. After Arthur returns it to its rightful owner, Sue Ellen reveals that she has written nice things about Arthur in the diary.

The original yellow diary was destroyed during the fire at Lakewood Elementary in "April 9th," which greatly upsets Sue Ellen. Muffy graciously offers Sue Ellen a new journal, with acid-free paper and a faux velvet cover, but Sue Ellen denies the gift. Muffy tries again with another personalized journal, bound with "genuine imitation suede" and its own pen. Sue Ellen accepts this one, and she continues using it as her new diary in later episodes.

Physical appearance[]

Sue Ellen's original diary had a yellow cover with the word "private" wrote all over it in different languages. The new diary is blue suede with the words "Property of Sue Ellen" engraved on a gold plate on the cover with golden corners and a lock on the side. In "Falafelosophy," Sue Ellen writes a graphic novel in a book with a multicolored zig-zagged pattern on the front, but it is unknown if this a redesigned diary, or possibly a different journal simply used to write a story.

The languages "Private" that were written on the cover include:[]

  1. English: "Private"
  2. Spanish: "Privado"
  3. Russian: "Лично"
  4. Chinese: "天用"
  5. Haitian: "Prive"
  6. Italian: "Privato"
  7. Norwegian: "Privat"
