Dr. Martin Spivak is a forensic speculographist who was the host of the television show The Factoid Front.
In "Bitzi's Break-Up", Buster imagines his mother dating an insurance salesman named Martin Spivak after breaking up with Harry Mills. Martin Spivak is unenthusiastic and unpleasant and Buster announces that he hates him. It is not certain whether that Martin Spivak is based on a real person or if Buster made him up.
In "Strangers on a Train", Sue Ellen imagines the ghost of the Crown City Star riding the train through the centuries. In the 1980s, both the ghost and a Martin Spivak-lookalike are annoyed by a young man's loud music.
In "Fifteen", Spivak is seen on the bus that George and his mother take to get to the radio quiz show.
In "Buster Isn't Buying It", Martin Spivak appears on TV as the host of The Factoid Front, which Buster and Mr. Morris like to watch. Spivak is a self-described Doctor of Speculography and presents conspiracy theories. Shortly after an episode about a megatoad living at Lake Shagamonk, the show is cancelled.
