Little, Brown and Company is a publishing company founded in 1837 by Charles Coffin Little and James Brown. They are responsible for publishing the Arthur Adventure books.
History[]
Since its founding, Little, Brown and Company has published titles, both fiction and non-fiction from American authors. Most of the titles appearing in lists included Emily Dickinson's poetry, Bartlett's Familar Quotations, Louisa May Alcott's Little Women, and Hergé's The Adventures of Tintin.
Little, Brown was acquired by Time Inc. in 1968. 21 years later in 1989, the company became a unit of the Time Warner Book Group after Time merged with Warner Communications to form Time Warner. 2001 saw all staff moving from Boston to New York City and by 2006, the Time Warner Book Group was sold to Hachette, where it was renamed to the Hachette Book Group.
