Jay Mayberry was a boy who attended fourth grade at Lakewood Elementary School in 1971. He only went to Lakewood for one year.
In the episode "Prunella and the Haunted Locker", Fern tells the story of Little Jack Murphy and the haunted locker 237. Francine believes that the story is based on Jay Mayberry, since he has the same initials. It is eventually revealed that Fern made up most of the story and chose "Jack Murphy" simply because she liked the name.
