Living Books are interactive books with mini-games and more. It was started in 1992. They've released stories based on the Arthur books, with the books releasing from 1992 to 1998. These were the first pieces of Arthur media to give the characters voices, predating the TV show by four years.
While Living Books went defunct in 1998, in 2010, Living Books was revived as Wanderful, Inc, and they've re-released some of their Living Books into apps, including two Arthur books.
