Ludwig van Beethoven (1770-1827) was a German composer and pianist.

In "Arthur Meets Mister Rogers," Arthur plays Beethoven's piano piece Für Elise for Fred Rogers.

In "Arthur vs. the Piano," Beethoven is seen on a book Buster shows Arthur. Arthur tries to imitate the composer's serious expression, but doing so makes his face hurt. In the same episode, Arthur plays Beethoven's Für Elise at the recital.

The song "Leftovers Goulash" from "Arthur's Almost Live Not Real Music Festival" uses elements of both Beethoven's 5th and 9th symphonies.

In the introduction to "Buster's Best Behavior," Arthur grows a Beethoven hairdo and is suddenly much better at playing the piano.

In "Brother, Can You Spare a Clarinet?," the school band plays Ode to Joy, from Beethoven's 9th symphony.

"D.W.'s Furry Freak-out" introduces Dr. Fugue's cat, Fur Elise, which is named after Für Elise.

The introduction to "Falafelosophy" shows Arthur as Beethoven playing the first notes of the 5th symphony and being told by his teacher D.W. that he was terrible.

In "Baby Steps," Binky mentions that Mei Lin can play a few notes on the piano. Mei Lin plays the first four notes of Beethoven's 5th symphony.

In "Binky's Music Madness," Binky wants to play Beethoven in his room ("Finally, it's just you and me, Beethoven").

In the introduction to "The Substitute Arthur," a quiz question is "Who wrote Beethoven's 5th Symphony?"
