Arthur Wiki
Nickelodeon

Nickelodeon (commonly shortened to Nick) is a media brand owned by Paramount Skydance Corporation that is known for airing children's shows and films in the US on their cable network and 85 other countries under the name Nickelodeon Global.[1] The network was launched in Australia in 1995 under ownership of XYZnetworks, under license from Viacom (now as "Paramount").

Nickelodeon acquired the rights to air Arthur in the U.K. and Australia in 1995.[2]with authorisation from WGBH and CINAR. In the United Kingdom, the show also aired on the British version of Nickelodeon in their "15 Minutes" block despite British broadcasting rights also being owned by CBBC at the time.[3] The last reported airing of Arthur on Nickelodeon was in 2000.

Seasons aired:[]

Episodes were aired with commercials in mind, thus meaning the removal of the "A Word from Us Kids" segment found in US PBS airings and home media releases. The 'a' and 'b' parts of the episodes (in explanation, the two individual stories in each episode usually separated by an interstitial) were sometimes aired individually. The bumper that usually played after Arthur episodes in the 1990s and 2000s in US releases that promoted going to a library and visiting the Arthur website is also omitted in Australian airings.[4]
