Poogles

Poogles are a children's toy that appears in Arthur Rides the Bandwagon.

Poogles appear to be an attempt to copy the Woogles, another children's toy with happy faces that can squeeze, stretch, bounce, and talk. A Poogle, however, can do none of these things, and has the appearance of a green, potato-shaped being with a clueless face painted on them and stretchy arms and legs. They can do nothing and thus are little more than a cheap novelty. These toys were so cheap and useless that the kids of Elwood City generally stayed away from them.

During the Woogle craze that had all of Arthur's friends buying a Woogle (A toy he absolutely ridiculed), Arthur was left without a Woogle and began to feel left out. One day, he saw a stand selling what he thought were Woogles and on an impulse bought one. Sadly, he didn't notice after the attendant moved the merchandise blocking the sign that it actually said "Poogles" (The "P" was blocked out). Arthur showed off his "Woogle" to Francine and Muffy, naming it "Charles" on the spot, but saw that his Poogle could do nothing when Muffy showed off her Woogles.

Buster dropped by and saw that Arthur had mistakenly bought a Poogle, much to Muffy and Francine's disgust. Arthur marched off insisting that he had bought the toy intentionally, but instead dumped it into the hands of some nearby triplets who cried at the sight of the toy.

This is the only appearance of the Poogles. It is possible that they stopped selling shortly after as they were so unpopular.
