Robert Lawrence Stine (born October 8, 1943) is an American writer and television producer. He is best known for his children's horror fiction book series Goosebumps, which was also adapted into a television series from 1995 to 1998. He also made the book series Garbage Pail Kids, which became a movie in 1987.
The Arthur episode "The Scare-Your-Pants-Off Club" (1996) was likely based on the real world controversy surrounding the Goosebumps books; some parents believed Goosebumps was too frightening for children.
R. L. Stine and Marc Brown worked together on the books The Little Shop of Monsters (2015)[1] and Mary McScary (2017).[2]
Stine appeared on Arthur as the voice of Robert "Bob" Baxter, Buster's uncle, in the episode "Fright Night" (2019).[3][4][5]
