Read family

The Reads are a family that lives in Elwood City. Notable members include Arthur Read and D.W. Read. This is the main family of the Arthur series. Members such as Arthur, his sisters D.W. and Kate, as well as their mom and dad appear in almost every episode of the series. Other members, such as Arthur and D.W.'s paternal grandmother and maternal grandfather are featured in some episodes of the series, with other members making only one appearance in the entire series.

  • Jane's side (Arthur's mother)
    • Jane's maiden name is unknown
    • It is implied that Jane's mother (wife of Dave, maternal grandmother to Arthur, D.W., and Kate) has passed away or that her and Grandpa Dave have divorced, but this is unknown.
    • Although he has made one appearance in the series, the name of Aunt Lucy's husband (Jane's brother-in-law and Arthur, D.W., and Kate's uncle) is unknown.
    • It is not known in Jessica's & Richard's relationship which party is the biological (as opposed to in-law) sibling of Jane. Either way, Jessica and Richard are established to be married and are the aunt/uncle to Arthur, D.W., and Kate.
    • It is implied that Fred (Arthur, D.W., and Kate's uncle) is either not married, divorced, or his spouse has passed away, but this is unknown.
