Thora's mother[1] is the great-grandmother of Arthur, D.W., Kate, and their cousins. She is the wife of Arthur's Grandma Thora's father and the mother of Grandma Thora and her three brothers, and is thereby also the grandmother of Arthur's father David and his siblings.
Little about her is revealed in the series, including her first or last name (since she is the mother of Arthur's father's mother, she would not be a Read) though she is apparently still alive in the present-day.
