After thinking this over for a while and looking around the site, I've come to a decision regarding what I'll do here. As some of you might have noticed recently, I've made hints this will be my last year running this site and those hints are indeed true.
You probably haven't seen me around as much and I don't want to say I haven't been around. I always watch the site from the background to make sure nothing is going on. With that said, ten years on this site has been a journey. Many users have come and gone here, the founder of this wiki was gone before I even joined or considered joining here.
I'd like to thank the following individuals who I've had the privilege of working with. Annawantimes, Jacksonian, Orion001, 5000 Explosions and a Supernova, Agency, TheAtomicLight, Jushiro971, Scrooge200, and Arthur Read fan. It was great getting to know all of you over the past several years. Each and everyone of you did something to contribute to Arthur Wiki and I thank all of you for it.
There are also various other individuals I have to thank who made this site what it was like The Pop Cult Gamer, PrettyCoolStairs, CaillouFan, and many others. As for the users who caused trouble here, let's not give them any attention now LOL! However, it takes a team to create a site like this and we're not a big site by no means, but we survived.
Arthur Wiki was my first site back when it was Wikia and now FANDOM. That's why this site is special to me, because its been through a lot just like I've been through a lot over the past ten years. As for why I'm leaving, well there are a few reasons I've made this decision.
1. Getting old, yup getting old is one of those reasons. May not sound like a good reason and some might think I'm getting too old to be watching Arthur, but its not even that. After a while of dealing with the same issues, it becomes tiresome to deal with. In addition to that, when you're an admin/bureaucrat everybody relies on you. That puts a lot of pressure on one and I will say this to everyone who is or wants to be an admin. No matter how good you are, everyone will criticize you for something. How you handle the criticism is where I take a step aside, I won't be the one to dictate that as you have to figure it out. So yes, it's getting tiresome dealing with the same old problems with the site.
2. I've come to grips and have accepted the reality that the Arthur Wiki won't have thousands of pages and this is as big as the site will get. One of my earlier mistakes was trying to make this site bigger. Thankfully, I've realized that mistake and have accepted this site won't get any bigger than what it is. It's kind of a too small to be big, too big to be small situation there.
3. I've done the best that I could do for this site and there is nothing left for me to give. Added many pages, pictures, categories, etc. Removed vandalism and banned many users who have caused problems here. I've also allowed users from Community Central to make appropriate changes to this site as well as our own users. There is really nothing left for me to do here and I've got nothing to prove either.
So in closing, December 12, 2010 was when I first started here using another account name and December 31, 2020 is when it'll end. I've done many things here that I didn't like and there are other things that I'm proud of doing, but most importantly I have no regrets for doing what I've done on this site.
Mistakes are meant to be made an we learn from them. I hope everyone understands this. Whether I remain on FANDOM is up for debate, but for now I have Jungle Emperor as my next project along with Daniel Tiger's Neighborhood. I'm not sure yet, but I hope to find a successor that will take over. I hope everyone respects my decision as it's time for me to head off into the sunset on this site and one other site. To quote the great anime show Cowboy Bebop, See you Space Cowboy.
