Summary[]
Arthur and Francine get paired up for square-dancing in gym class. When Muffy wants to swap places with her partner, who turns out to be Binky, Francine refuses. Binky then starts a rumor that both Arthur and Francine are in love. They set out to prove the rumor false.

Differences between the book and the episode[]
- In the book, Arthur also sits with 4th graders, however, these are background characters (among them Brian (4th grader) rather than the Tough Customers like in the episode.
- In the book, Francine says she found the cowboy hats in the basement from when she went to Texas. In the episode, she says she bought them.
- The cooties that Arthur is shown to have in his dream are depicted in the illustration as dots instead of the cartoon-like lips.
